Bríd Óg Norbby

Irish Artist Bríd óg Norrby has lived most of her life on her home farm in the North Kildare countryside. She graduated in 1999 from the Dublin Institute of Technology with a BA in sculpture. She worked for a couple of years in ceramics before turning full time to her own work, mostly drawn back to painting but also working in stone and wood. Since then she has exhibited widely throughout the country in selected groups exhibitions, joint exhibitions and a solo show in the Riverbank Arts Centre. For the last few years she has also been teaching watercolours to adults and teenagers in Florence and Milly’s studio in Clane. Bríd óg and her Catalan husband Marc have three daughters and run the old family farm in Kildare. They have mostly sheep, one beloved Arab mare, three gorgeous collies and two ginger cats (for the moment!). Frequent trips to their family in Barcelona – a city so enriched by its art and architecture – gives her fresh inspiration and perspective for her work.
